Retrofitting existing xUnit.Net tests to Bobcat

Bobcat, the Critter Stack's specification tool, was applied to Marten's DaemonTests project, historically its flakiest suite: hundreds of tests now report Given/When/Then steps without a single edited test body. Steps come from attributes on helpers the tests already call, from marker comments, and from projected Shouldly assertions.

Use Claude Code Hooks for Targeted .NET Verification

A Claude Code PostToolUse hook can run just the relevant xUnit tests right after the agent edits a file, moving verification from prompt reminders into the tool lifecycle. The article walks through an .claude/settings.json entry, the event JSON read from stdin and the meaning of each exit code on a sample Shipping solution. It is equally clear about limits: the hook cannot undo an edit, never sees files rewritten by Bash and does not replace CI.

Constant Time Recovery: how Azure SQL stopped undoing work row by row

Microsoft explains Constant Time Recovery, the design that stopped Azure SQL recovery time from scaling with the amount of work an interrupted transaction had done. A persistent version store plus logical revert let the engine mark an aborted transaction and clean up lazily instead of walking the log row by row. The work ships as Accelerated Database Recovery: always on in Azure SQL Database, opt-in on SQL Server.

SQL Server Full-Text Search: building blocks and main features

Bart Wullems walks through SQL Server's built-in Full-Text Search, from the inverted index behind it to the query predicates you write against it. The piece explains why leading-wildcard LIKE queries can't seek an index, then shows how to create a full-text catalog and index, filter with CONTAINS and FREETEXT, rank results with CONTAINSTABLE, and control stop words.
